Exploring Private Loan Options (For North American Students)

Financing Your Education: Private Loan Options for U.S. and Canadian Students

As an internationally based institution, AUG Global Campus is not eligible to participate in U.S. federal financial aid programs (such as FAFSA) or the Canadian student loan system. However, many students from North America choose to explore private education loans to help finance their studies.

Private loans are credit-based loans offered by banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions. These loans are not tied to your citizenship status with the university and may be available for students attending international or online institutions like AUGGC.

What to Know About Private Loans

PRIVATE LOANS

They require credit approval

Most lenders will assess your credit history or require a co-signer, especially if you are a full-time student.

Loan terms vary by lender

Interest rates, repayment terms, and fees can differ widely. Be sure to compare carefully.

Check eligibility for foreign institutions

Not all private lenders support international institutions. When researching, confirm that your lender supports enrollment at foreign-based schools like AUGGC.

Some private loans require repayment while you’re still studying, while others allow deferred repayment until after graduation.
